Flavor

Flavor was a concept that was put together in a short amount of time in order to test the process our current team had in place. The idea was to design a food ordering iOS app with 5-6 page views. The main idea of the app is to quickly be able to find the food that you want to eat from a multi-cuisine restaurant and order it as quickly as possible on the go (with the least amount of taps, the equivalent of least amount of clicks on a web page). From an engineering perspective, we would expect the app to learn about my likings and capture that somehow from an interface standpoint and present it back to me when we return.

Exploration

"What do I want." This is the first question that a user will ask themselves before opening our food delivery application. This is the question, in it's simplest form, that I have tried to answer with thoughtful patterns, interactions, and data leveraging.

Obstacles

User Journey

The solution is to create a fun and interesting way to capture what the user wants in terms of flavor proles. Rather than bombard them with a list of restaurants that contain extensive menus, unrelated menu items, and potential results that would not cater to the user's preferences, we will serve up only items that the user is currently in the mood for. This will be executed by having the user choose from a “list” of flavors, cultural proles, and options that would relate to the culinary world, resulting in a specific list of menu items catered to what the user is currently searching for. Showing the user specific menu items rather than potential restaurants or general menus, the user will get to their decision quicker, streamlining the process of deciding what to eat.

Screens

The art direction for the UI was to remain simple so that the images of the food could stand out. I wanted everything to get out of the way, and let the user focus on the food so they may be better prepared to decide on what to order.
