The VMware Browser is an app created to provide Fortune 500 organizations a configurable and secure alternative to native web browsers. This app's behavior is dependant on the admin's configuration, meaning the design patterns need to flexible, scalable, and simple.

Stand Alone User
The user will launch and interact with the browser as they do any consumer browser. Searching, interacting and digesting content configured and deployed to them by their admin as well as content they discover on their own.
Creating a component driven system that can be flexible and tailored to admin configurations was mandatory in order to have a successful design system. Each component shares characteristics with its counterparts, cutting down on dev time and creating a cohesive experience for the user and the admin.
Designing for tablets was an essential part of the secure browsing experience. One of the main use cases for the secure browser was in store browsing. Our challenge was to let the customer browse a site securely without being able to access other public sites, change browser settings, or navigate away from the specific site. Kiosk mode can be enabled from the admin and will address all of the features listed above.
